We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Clerk to join our block management finance team. This role is central to ensuring accurate and efficient management of leaseholder accounts, purchase and sales ledgers, and financial queries. The successful candidate will support the finance team in maintaining high standards of service for both internal stakeholders and leaseholders
Key Responsibilities:
Purchase Ledger
Process supplier invoices, credit notes, and payments in line with company procedures.
Ensure supplier accounts are reconciled regularly and discrepancies resolved promptly.
Liaise with property managers and contractors regarding invoice queries.
Assist with preparation of payment runs and supplier statement reconciliations.
Sales Ledger
Raise and issue service charge and ground rent demands in line with legal and company requirements.
Record and allocate leaseholder payments accurately.
Chase overdue accounts in line with company credit control procedures.
Maintain accurate debtor records and liaise with solicitors where necessary.
Leaseholder Accounts Queries
Respond to leaseholder telephone and email queries promptly and professionally.
Provide clear breakdowns of accounts, service charges, and payments.
Escalate complex disputes or arrears cases to the Financial Controller as appropriate.
Skills & Experience Required:
Essential:
Previous experience in an accounts role, ideally within property or block management (desirable but not essential).
Strong understanding of purchase ledger and sales ledger processes.
Confident with accounting systems
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
Strong Excel skills, including the use of pivot tables and financial formulas.
Organised, able to prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain financial information clearly.
