to support the day-to-day financial operations of our growing M&E business. This role covers credit control, CIS, monthly payroll, and general accounts administration, with some office support duties such as answering calls.
The role is part-time initially. Hours may increase in future if the business grows, but only if the successful candidate wants additional responsibility -- staying part-time long-term is absolutely fine.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts & Credit Control
Chase overdue invoices by phone and email
Manage customer accounts and credit limits
Run aged debtor reports
Resolve invoice queries professionally
Maintain accurate credit control logs
Use Sage for invoicing and allocations
Submit sales invoices
Payroll & CIS
Process monthly payroll (essential)
Handle CIS verification, deductions and submissions
Maintain accurate payroll and subcontractor records
Submit required information to HMRC
General Accounts Admin
Input sales and purchase invoices
Reconcile bank accounts and credit cards
Maintain digital and paper financial records
Assist with month-end routines
Office Support
Answer incoming calls
General admin support to the office team
Keep filing and documentation organised
What We're Looking For
Essential:
Strong experience with Sage
Previous credit control experience
Able to run payroll independently
Knowledge of CIS
Good communication and telephone skills
High attention to detail and accuracy
Desirable:
Experience in construction/M&E
Confidence working independently
