Summary



Join Houghton & Son Ltd as an Account Manager, where you'll manage end-to-end financial operations including reporting, forecasting, VAT and year-end accounts, and team supervision. Your expertise will drive financial performance evaluation, risk analysis, and compliance support.

Responsibilities



Plan, organise and execute financial task and projects Complete financial reports, lead the month-end closing process and conduct monthly financial forecast Manage and monitor metrics, KPIs tracking and reports Evaluate the financial performance of the business and measure returns on investments Understand and calculate the risks involved in the financial activities of the organisation Utilise Xero to manager accounts payable and other financial transactions Production of management accounts, year end accounts and VAT returns Oversee Sales Ledger Ensure all sales invoices are imputed and filled accurately. Report to Senior Management Prepare and present reports on account performance, including financial metrics and forecasts. Monitor account activities and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures Supervisions of a small team Production of management accounts, year-end accounts, VAT returns Assisting with the annual tax return compliance process Analysing financial reports to identify any trends, issues and improvements Supporting with any companies house or inland revenues queries

Requirements



Proven experience as an Account Manager or similar role in the construction or contracting industry. Strong knowledge of accounting software, particularly Sage, Xero, or QuickBooks. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple accounts effectively. Ability to analyse financial data and provide insights for decision-making.

Pay: 35,000.00-45,000.00 per year
