We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Account Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing company accounts, ensuring satisfaction, and fostering long-term relationships. This role requires proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, as well as a solid understanding of accounts payable processes. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of our clients while providing exceptional service.
Duties
Financial Management
Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
Monitor cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting to support business planning and decision-making.
Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and internal policies.
Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end closing processes.
Coordinate with auditors during internal and external audits.
Reporting & Analysis
Prepare and present financial and payroll reports to management.
Analyse financial trends, payroll costs, and variances for decision-making.
Support management in cost control and operational efficiency initiatives.
Systems & Process Improvement
Maintain and enhance accounting and payroll systems (e.g., Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, BrightPay).
Streamline processes and introduce automation to improve accuracy and efficiency.
Ensure data integrity, confidentiality, and GDPR compliance across all systems.
Leadership & Coordination
Supervise and support the accounts and payroll team, ensuring tasks are completed on time.
Provide training and performance feedback to team members.
Collaborate with other departments (HR, Operations, Finance) to align financial and payroll processes.
Qualifications
Proven experience in account management or a similar role within the finance sector.
Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero is essential.
Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and financial reporting.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build rapport with clients.
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
