We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Account Manager to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing client accounts, ensuring smooth financial operations, and fostering strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in accounting or finance to utilise their skills within a supportive and professional environment. The ideal applicant will possess experience with accounting software Xero, and have a solid understanding of accounts payable processes.
Responsibilities
Manage and maintain client accounts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial data
Process accounts payable transactions efficiently using recognised accounting software
Reconcile accounts and prepare financial reports as required
Manage accruals, prepayments, and invoice discounting facility
Liaise with clients to address queries and provide exceptional customer service
Review supplier payments, customer debts, and credit limits
Assist in the optimisation of accounting procedures and workflows
Complete month-end and year-end closing activities
Complete monthly/quarterly VAT returns
Manage payroll, PAYE and Pensions
Complete monthly CIS returns
Maintain cashflow
Keep abreast of relevant financial regulations and compliance standards
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless financial operations
Requirements
Proven experience in account management or similar finance roles
Proficiency in accounting software ideally Xero
Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and financial reconciliation
Excellent organisational skills with high attention to detail
Ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure
A recognised qualification in accounting, finance, or a related field is desirable but not essential
Experience within the construction industry would be ideal but not essential.
