The Finance team are a sociable, engaging team supporting a customer-centric and cutting-edge multi-entity Business Function. The team are looking for a Retail Finance Assistant to support their Finance Director in a broad and busy role.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Officer to join our organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and supporting the purchase and sales ledger teams. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work within a dynamic team, utilise Sage 50 and Excel, and contribute to the organisation's financial planning and analysis. The position is suitable for individuals with a good background in finance.
Responsibilities
Assist with the preparation and processing of financial transactions and documentation
Maintain accurate financial records and ensure timely data entry
Reconcile bank accounts for our retail properties
Reconcile supplier accounts and statements
Assist in processing supplier invoices including utility and business rates
Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
Provide administrative support to the accounting and finance team as needed.
Skills
Proficiency in Sage 50 is essential with good Excel skills
Strong experience with accounts payable processes and data entry accuracy
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
Analytical mindset with attention to detail for accurate record keeping and reporting
Good communication skills to liaise effectively across departments
This position is ideal for candidates who are organised, proactive, and eager to contribute positively to our organisation's financial stability through effective credit management practices.
This role is office based in Blackburn from 8.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday. Experience of credit control is essential and without this experience we are unable to offer interviews. Interviews can be held during a work-day or in evenings to accommodate successful candidates.
