Overview:

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Apprentice to join Haymarket's Group Finance team within the Billing & Accounts Payable function.


A pre-requisite for this role is that you have passed a Level 2 AAT and looking to start with a Level 3 AAT (We are not looking for anyone above this level).


Reporting to the Accounts Assistant, the role is to provide administrative and finance duties. You will be given the relevant training and opportunity to learn the fundamentals of transactional finance and build on your education. This role will suit someone looking to start or progress with Level 3 AAT.


Responsibilities:

Responsible for the timely and accurate processing of purchase invoices using purchase orders. Follow up on invoice approval and discrepancies. Responding to supplier and staff queries in a timely manner.. Perform regular reconciliations of supplier statements. Uploading new supplier requests to SIM (Supplier Information Management system) Administrative duties including opening the post, answering the telephone, and monitoring the accounts payable email inboxes. Month end close tasks. All duties to be carried out in accordance with departmental KPI's. The post holder may, from time to time, be required to undertake other duties of a similar nature as may reasonably be required by his/her line manager.



Skills / Experience / Knowledge / Minimum Criteria:

A keen interest in finance Willing to embark on an Level 3 AAT qualification Maths and English (Level grades 9-4) Strong attention to detail Good communication skills An enthusiastic and dynamic approach to your work The desire to learn Excel - basic knowledge

This candidate will be expected to have already passed the Level 2 AAT and be ready to complete Level 3 AAT training qualification.
