About the role



We are looking for a confident, motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Controller

,

to join our dynamic

Accounts

team in

Bishops Stortford

. This is an exciting opportunity for someone to take the next step in their career, and will play a crucial role in managing the firms financial obligations by processing invoices and ensuring timely payments.

What this role would include



To manage the accounts payable process with accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. Process supplier invoices promptly and accurately. Ensure invoices are in line with budget invoices and that appropriate approvals are in place. Prepare and run payment batches (e.g. BACS, CHAPS, or online banking systems). Reconcile supplier statements and handle queries or discrepancies. Assist with month-end procedures including accruals and prepayments. Act as point of contact between the finance team and internal departments (HR, IT, admin) on supplier matters. Prepare for external audits (SRA, ISO, Lexcel) by maintaining well-organised records.

While the following skills and qualifications are beneficial, we encourage you to apply even if you do not meet every requirement:

Experience of accounting software and internet banking software is desirable and strong ICT skills including Excel.. High standard of accuracy with full attention to detail. Ability to work effectively and efficiently without supervision. Ability to work in a planned and organised way, and have the ability to multitask and manage a variety of requests. Ability to deal with a range of customer and staff queries/concerns in a professional manner both in person and over the phone.
