About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive

Accounts Payable Finance Assistant

to join our team in Pinxton. This role focuses on accounts payable and supports the wider finance function. You'll be responsible for processing supplier invoices, managing payments, and maintaining accurate financial records, while working closely with internal departments and external suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

Raise purchase orders in line with company and accounting policies Process and verify supplier invoices with correct cost allocation Make payments via BACS, CHAPS, and SWIFT, following authorisation protocols Respond to invoice and payment queries via email and phone Reconcile bank statements and investigate discrepancies Support financial reporting, budgeting, and audit preparation Set up new supplier accounts and maintain accurate records Monitor cash flow and outstanding payables Administer petty cash and EU VAT reclaims Generate and reconcile monthly supplier statements Provide cover for finance team members during holidays

Person Specification

Previous experience in a finance or accounts payable role Strong attention to detail and accurate data entry skills Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel Excellent communication and customer service skills Organised, proactive, and able to prioritise tasks Strong relationship-building skills with internal stakeholders Comfortable working with financial data Minimum GCSE Maths Grade C / Level 4 or above
