About the role





As the Accounts Payable Manager, you will play an important role in overseeing the end-to-end accounts payable function, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices and payments.





Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for managing the Accounts Payable team, implementing robust controls, being innovative and driving process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy using technology.





You will act as the key point of contact for suppliers, resolving queries and maintaining strong relationships while ensuring compliance with company policies and UK regulatory requirements.





You will ensure that invoice processing and reconciliation practices are followed, and will be a point of contact for escalations. Alongside this, you will be involved in the monthly payroll and expenses process.

What you will be doing




Line management of a small team, including day-to-day oversight and appraisals in line with our Aspiring for Great Performance framework. Managing the costs of the business by ensuring accurate input of purchase invoices matched to approved POs through management of the Accounts Payable team. You will ensure that company controls are met for supplier setup, ordering and payment You will be a key contact for supplier queries and ensuring that they are addressed in a timely manner for continuity of service and predictable cash flow. Support continual improvement by identifying opportunities for improvement and efficiency, including via systems and technology.



You will suit the role if you have



Previous experience in Accounts Payable and in managing a small team. A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement to drive efficiencies. Be proficient in financial systems and software (Microsoft Business Central - desirable) and strong Excel skills to handle high volume data. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders, and develop team members.

Salary





35,000 to 45,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Location and Working Arrangements





You will be based at Aspire's Gateshead Head Office.




Hours of Work





Full time (37.5 hours per week), Monday to Friday
