Are you an experienced Accounts Payable professional ready to take ownership of the full purchase-to-pay (P2P) cycle? We're looking for an Accounts Payable Manager to lead our AP function, streamline processes, and ensure every supplier transaction is handled with accuracy, integrity, and compliance.
This is a great opportunity for someone who loves both the detail and the bigger picture -- managing a team, improving systems, and working cross-functionally with Procurement, Finance, and Operations.
What You'll Do
Purchase-to-Pay Process
Oversee the end-to-end PO process -- from requisition to payment.
Ensure all invoices are accurately matched, approved, and processed in line with policy.
Collaborate with Procurement and department leads to resolve discrepancies quickly.
Manage non-PO invoices and ensure proper coding, approval, and compliance.
Payments & Reconciliations
Lead supplier payment runs, maintaining strong cashflow discipline.
Ensure the supplier ledger is accurate and reconciled regularly.
Manage credit notes and staff expenses in line with company and HMRC requirements.
Controls & Reporting
Maintain compliance with UK GAAP, VAT regulations, and internal controls.
Produce AP reports -- including aged creditors, GRNI, and PO status summaries.
Support month-end, year-end, and audit activities.
Leadership & Improvement
Lead, develop, and motivate the AP team.
Identify opportunities for automation and process enhancement.
Build strong relationships across departments to ensure an efficient P2P cycle.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
AAT qualified (or equivalent) or qualified by experience.
5+ years' experience in Accounts Payable, including 2+ in a supervisory or management role.
Strong understanding of 3-way matching and UK VAT compliance.
Confident using ERP systems (IFS, SAP, Dynamics 365, etc.) and Excel.
Desirable:
Experience with P2P or AP automation systems.
Exposure to multi-entity or international environments.
Knowledge of procurement principles.

Hours:
Full-time, Monday to Friday.
