Accounts Receivable Assistant




Purpose of the role:



This role is responsible for accounts receivable, including daily payment reconciliations, correcting the payments on bookings, running overdue reports to aid in chasing customers, raising statements and VAT invoices to Travel Agents.


Location

: This role is based in our office in Market Harborough.


Working Hours:

Full-time permanent role working 37.5 hours per week 09:00 am-17:15 pm Monday to Friday with 45 minute lunch break.


In this role you will:




Complete daily reconciliation of customer receipts from both direct and agency customers. Communicate directly with travel agents to issue self-billing agreements, raise VAT invoices and ensure payments are made within the correct timeframes, before costs are incurred by the business. Notify ABTA of any non-payment from travel agents and follow claims procedures where necessary. Prepare and analyse weekly customer overdue reports for the holiday support team to chase overdue debts for direct customers. Process customer cancellations and refunds, ensuring correct charges have been applied. Work cross-functionally with other departments in the business, assisting the contact centre and trade teams with their queries. Assist with reconciling the bank transactions to the finance system. Proactively challenge discrepancies with the key stakeholders within the business and recommend change initiatives. Follow all business booking terms and conditions, instructions, and requirements to ensure integrity of service provided and support business objectives. Support the Accounts Payable team during busy times of the year.

Seek opportunities to improve individual and team performance, striving best practices to enhance performance. Helping your team and colleagues stay motivated and deliver on goals. Accounts Receivable experience is preferred. Educated to GCSE level or equivalent including Maths & English. Be proficient in written and verbal communication skills. Be computer literate in Word and Outlook, and especially Excel.
