Clark Wood is delighted to be working with a leading firm of accountants in Braintree who are looking to add an Accounts Semi Senior to their growing team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with solid accounting experience, looking to develop their career in a supportive and progressive environment with a leading Essex practice.
Key Requirements:
3+ years of practice experience.
ACA/ACCA trainee or fully qualified AAT (with or without Apprenticeship experience).
Audit experience is a plus, but not essential
Excellent communication skills, both internally and with clients.
Responsibilities:

• Support the team with a range of accounting tasks, including VAT controls, PAYE, and other complex areas.

• Prepare draft accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.

Ensure compliance with current accounting standards (FRS105, FRS102(1a) desirable).

• Conduct analytical reviews of financial statements and provide insightful feedback.

• Prepare tax computations for corporate clients.

• Assist in the preparation of management accounts and highlight any unusual financial patterns.

• Communicate with clients to gather necessary information and resolve queries during accounts preparation.

• Support the audit team with tasks such as transaction testing and balance sheet analysis.

• Review VAT return schedules and liaise with clients to ensure timely submission.

• Mentor and provide feedback to junior accountants and assistants.

• Meet deadlines and budget requirements for assignments.
