Join Our Team as a Senior Accountant at Hawthorn Tax
About the Role:
We operate a 4-day week (Mon-Thurs). As a Senior Accountant at Hawthorn Tax, you'll be entrusted with a diverse client portfolio, giving you the autonomy to manage your workflow and deadlines independently. You'll work to a Client Manager and have the support of at least one Accounts Assistant. Your role involves preparing statutory accounts and other deliverables, guiding them through the Client Manager review stage. Additionally, you'll play a pivotal role in nurturing the growth and development of our Accounts Assistants.
There is progression opportunity to develop into a Client Manager role.

Salary starting from 40,500 per year with clear structure to progress

Key Responsibilities:
Independently manage the day-to-day accounting operations with a personal touch.
Prepare statutory and management accounts, ensuring they're review-ready.
Handle basic corporation tax and personal tax returns, with full training available if needed.
Support the development of Accounts Assistants through thoughtful delegation and quality reviews.
Oversee and process VAT returns, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and company policies.
Offer guidance and training to Accounts Assistants, fostering a collaborative learning environment.
Note: Your duties may extend beyond this list, adapting to the evolving needs of our dynamic business.
Qualifications & Experience:
Qualified Chartered Accountant.
Proven experience in a Senior Accountant or similar role for at least 4 years (can be pre-qualification).
Proficient in cloud-based accounting software, like Xero.
Essential Criteria:
