We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Accounts Senior to play a crucial role in our accounting department. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients, preparing financial statements, and providing expert advice on accounting matters. Key Responsibilities

Prepare year-end accounts for limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations Compile and review corporate tax computations, working closely with our tax team to optimise client tax positions Manage a diverse portfolio of clients across various industries, serving as the primary point of contact for financial matters Conduct thorough reviews of client financial records, identifying areas for improvement and providing recommendations Assist in the preparation of management accounts, cash flow forecasts, and budgets Liaise with external auditors during annual audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations Mentor and supervise junior team members, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills and knowledge Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting standards, tax legislation, and industry best practices Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement efficient accounting procedures Participate in client meetings to discuss financial performance and provide strategic advice Assist in the preparation of financial reports and presentations for senior management and clients Contribute to the firm's business development efforts by identifying potential new clients and cross-selling opportunities

Qualifications and Requirements

ACCA or ACA qualification (essential) Minimum of 3-5 years of post-qualification experience in a similar role Extensive experience in preparing year-end accounts for limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships Strong knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS Proficiency in preparing corporate tax computations and liaising with tax specialists Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software (e.g., Xero, Sage and Iris) Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues

Desired Skills and Experience

Experience in a mid-tier accounting firm or similar professional services environment Knowledge of cloud-based accounting systems and digital accounting tools Experience in managing client relationships and delivering high-quality client service Familiarity with audit processes and procedures Understanding of VAT regulations and compliance requirements Experience in preparing and reviewing self-assessment tax returns Knowledge of company secretarial matters and statutory filing requirements
