Our six nurseries across Manchester offer children a nurturing and stimulating environment where they can grow and learn. Now, we're looking for a Part-Time HR Officer & Office Administrator to be the backbone of our team, overseeing HR functions and office administration across all sites.

We work with outsourced employment law consultants who will provide you with advice and ready-made templates. However, your ability to work independently and efficiently will be key to your success.

Job Responsibilities:



HR Duties:



Talent Acquisition:

Oversee recruitment; from writing job descriptions and adverts, to conducting interviews and appointing the right staff.

Strategic HR Planning:

Develop strategies to meet immediate and long-term staffing requirements.

Policy Development & Implementation:

Develop and implement policies on a range of topics.

Managerial Support:

Guide line managers on implementing policies and procedures.

Equality and Diversity:

Promote equality and diversity within our organisation.

Conflict Resolution:

Handle grievances and implement disciplinary procedures.

Training Analysis:

Work with departmental managers to identify and address training needs.

Administrative Duties:



Office Management:

Oversee and manage all administrative tasks ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.

Record Keeping:

Prepare staff handbooks, administer payroll, maintain accurate employee records, and manage office supplies.

Communication:

Be the first point of contact for staff, suppliers, and clients, handling correspondence and queries.

Job Requirements:



Proven experience in HR and office administration Comprehensive understanding of UK employment laws Exceptional organisational and time-management skills Ability to work independently, manage your workload, and make decisions Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills Knowledge of the childcare sector in the UK (preferred) Possession of a Disclosure Barring Certificate or willingness to obtain one (cost covered by us).

Responsibilities

of the Accounts/HR Officer

Process payroll accurately and on time for all nursery staff. Maintain and reconcile accounts payable/receivable and petty cash. Maintain employee records and HR documentation (contracts, right-to-work checks, etc.). Support recruitment, onboarding, and leaver processes. Ensure compliance with HR policies and UK employment law. Communicate effectively with area managers, directors, and staff.

: Maintain 100% completion of employee files (right-to-work, contracts, DBS, references) within 7 days of a new starter joining.

Compliance Audit

: Achieve a 95% pass rate in internal HR and finance compliance audits every quarter.

Communication

: Respond to internal HR/finance queries within 48 hours with accurate information.

: Ensure monthly reconciliation of all nursery accounts by the 5th of the following month.
