Salary Range: xc2xa332,247 - xc2xa334,329
Work Location: Near Fareham
Hours per week: Monday - Friday with flexible office hours

We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to join us as a Public Access Officer, within a national policing unit.
More about the role
ACRO Public Access are part of the ACRO Information Management team. This position will support the Public Access function enabling ACRO to respond appropriately to subject rights requests, record deletion applications, freedom of information requests as well as requests for information and advice surrounding national police records.
In this interesting role, you will provide an effective service to members of the public and a range of stakeholders within policing and government regarding Public Access related activities. A large proportion of the role will see you supporting the national Record Deletion Process.
You will have good customer service skills, with excellent attention to detail. Highly effective communication skills are essential together with competent user skills in computer applications including spreadsheets and databases. A high degree of integrity and trust is required as you will be dealing with sensitive information. An understanding of Information Management principles and relevant legislation such as the Data Protection Act is also required.

Essential Qualifications

3 vocational qualification that is relevant to the role OR work experience deemed to have brought the postholder to a comparable level.
Essential Experience

• xc2xb7 Proven experience of processing public access functions to include subject access, erasure and other subject rights.
• xc2xb7 Experience in handling customer complaints or concerns.
• xc2xb7 Excellent communication skills.
• xc2xb7 Previous experience of writing reports and collating statistical information
• xc2xb7 Knowledge of the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018 and the ability to interpret the legal requirements for the business, particularly around subject rights and exemptions.
• xc2xb7 Proficient with Microsoft applications to include Word, Outlook and Excel.
