Role Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic
Acro Tumbling Coach
to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in acrobatic gymnastics and tumbling and be confident working with both recreational and competitive gymnasts. You'll be responsible for planning and delivering engaging sessions, supporting gymnasts in their skill development, and helping maintain a positive club atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality acro and tumbling sessions to gymnasts of various ages and skill levels
Use correct technical progressions and provide safe spotting for skills
Plan and adapt session content in line with the club's coaching framework and athlete development goals
Monitor gymnasts' progress and provide constructive feedback
Ensure a safe and supportive training environment in line with British Gymnastics standards
Collaborate with other coaches and staff to support club-wide events, displays, and competitions
Communicate effectively with gymnasts, parents, and fellow coaches
Contribute to a positive, inclusive club culture that aligns with Balham Gymnastics Club values
Requirements:
Coaching experience in acrobatics and/or tumbling (minimum 1 year preferred)
UKCC Level 1 (minimum) in Gymnastics / Acro / Tumbling or willingness to work towards certification
Confident in spotting acro and tumbling skills safely
A clear and current DBS check (or willingness to obtain)
First Aid and Safeguarding training (or willingness to complete)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A genuine passion for coaching and developing young athletes
Desirable:
UKCC Level 2 (or higher) in Acro, Tumbling, or General Gymnastics
Experience with choreography or routine preparation
Background in working with competitive or display teams
Knowledge of British Gymnastics rules and competition pathways
