About The Role
We are looking for an Editor/Director level candidate to lead the Creator Media team. This is a rare opportunity to manage the development and growth of a first-of-its-kind creator business within one of the biggest news publishers in the world. Responsible for producing best-in-class social content, the Head of Creator Media must have proven experience leading a social-first team and will be responsible for content, strategy and growth across all three creator-led brands to ensure all audience, commercial and stakeholder requirements are met.
Main Responsibilities
Oversee the day to day running of the Eliza, You and Eliza's Brother (currently a team of 24)
Manage all the editorial and commercial output from the Creator Media teams, ensuring all content is best-in-class and aligns with brand, audience and business objectives
Define and lead the overall editorial vision, strategy and tone of voice across all our platforms, including reporting on editorial targets
Work closely with Commercial MD to set and manage commercial KPIs and ensure they are met across all teams
Ownership of departmental budgets, forecasting and resource allocation
Use performance metrics, audience insights and market trends to guide decisions, regularly evaluating performance and adjusting strategy when required
Identify opportunities for growth, efficiency and innovation across the business
Lead and develop all managers on the team, including creative video team
Act as final editorial authority, ensuring accuracy, quality and consistency
Hire and nurture talent and maintain our unique team culture
Person Specification
Proven experience directing a team of this size and managing managers
Proven experience of setting and executing editorial strategy across multiple platforms
Strong understanding of media/social business models (social platforms, partnerships, licensing etc)
Innovative mindset and a desire to develop an industry-leading business
Experience managing budgets and long-term planning
Excellent communication, stakeholder management and decision-making skills
