Job Summary


We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Activities Co-ordinator to lead engaging recreational programs that enrich the lives of our residents. In this role, you will design, organize, and facilitate a variety of activities tailored to the interests and needs of our residents, including those with memory impairments or living with dementia. Your enthusiasm and creativity will foster a vibrant community atmosphere, promote social interaction, and support residents' emotional and physical well-being. Responsibilities



Plan, develop, and implement diverse activity programs that cater to residents' interests, abilities, and health conditions, including memory care and Alzheimer's care. Coordinate daily schedules for recreational activities, ensuring smooth execution and timely transitions. Foster an inclusive environment by working closely with residents, families, and staff to identify individual preferences and special needs. Lead group activities such as arts and crafts, music therapy, exercise classes, games, outings, and social events that promote engagement and joy. Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) when needed, providing encouragement and support to enhance independence. Maintain detailed records of participation, resident feedback, and activity outcomes for quality assurance and regulatory compliance. Collaborate with care teams to integrate therapeutic activities that support cognitive function, emotional health, and overall well-being.

Experience



Proven experience in event planning or recreational therapy within assisted living communities or nursing homes. Prior work in care settings with a focus on memory care or dementia care is highly desirable. Strong background in caregiving or long-term care environments involving assisted living or home & community care experience. Excellent communication skills to effectively engage residents with diverse needs and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams. Knowledge of aging issues counseling, social work principles, and best practices in dementia care is advantageous. Demonstrated ability to manage schedules efficiently while balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Experience working with people with disabilities or those requiring specialized memory support enhances your suitability for this role.
