Birchy Hill Care Home is located in the picturesque village of Sway and provides high?quality residential and nursing care for up to 65 older people across five welcoming units.

About the Role

To help keep our friendly home a happy, vibrant and stimulating place to live, we are looking for an Activities Assistant to join our team for 32 hours per week, including occasional evenings and weekends.

Working alongside our Lead Leisure & Lifestyle Coordinator, this is a varied and rewarding role. We are seeking a warm?hearted, enthusiastic and committed individual who can help us create the kind of caring, engaging environment you would want for your own loved ones.

What You'll Do

Activities are central to daily life at Birchy Hill, and we pride ourselves on offering person?centred, meaningful and enjoyable experiences. In this role, you will:

Support the planning and delivery of a wide range of activities Help design and implement meaningful occupational therapies Encourage residents to maintain a sense of purpose, fulfilment and self?worth Bring joy, stimulation and companionship to residents in a safe, respectful environment Liaise with residents to incorporate their interests, ideas and requests Coordinate with external providers for music sessions, pet therapy and other events
Activities may include crafting, gardening, puzzles, board games, reminiscence therapy and more.

Creative, confident and full of positive energy Naturally able to build rapport with people Organised, reliable and proactive Comfortable using IT for planning and recording activities An excellent communicator and a supportive team player
Above all, you will be committed to maintaining residents' dignity, privacy and wellbeing while contributing to a happy, stable and stimulating home environment.

Additional Information

All appointments are subject to safer recruitment procedures to ensure the safeguarding of adults. The successful applicant will be required to obtain an enhanced DBS disclosure at their own cost. Applicants must already be based in the UK.
