We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Activities Coordinator to oversee and enhance the quality of life for residents in our assisted living and nursing home facilities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, organising, and implementing engaging activities that promote social interaction, cognitive stimulation, and overall well-being for seniors, including those with dementia and Alzheimer's care needs. This role requires excellent communication skills and a deep understanding of senior care dynamics.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement a comprehensive activities programme tailored to the interests and abilities of residents.
Coordinate daily activities, including arts and crafts, games, music therapy, exercise classes, and outings.
Foster a warm and inviting atmosphere that encourages resident participation and socialisation.
Collaborate with caregivers and nursing staff to ensure activities are aligned with residents' care plans.
Evaluate the effectiveness of activities through resident feedback and participation levels, making adjustments as necessary.
Maintain accurate records of activities conducted, attendance, and resident engagement levels.
Stay informed about best practices in senior care activities, particularly for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's.
Experience
Previous experience in an assisted living or nursing home setting is desirable.
Background in senior care or care-giving is highly desirable.
Familiarity with dementia care practices is advantageous.
Strong communication skills are crucial for effectively engaging with residents, families, and staff members.
A creative mindset with the ability to design innovative programmes that cater to diverse interests within the resident community.
