Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dynamic Activities Co-Ordinator to join our team in providing enriching experiences for residents in our care home. With support from the Management Team you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing a comprehensive activities programme that promotes social engagement, physical well-being, and cognitive stimulation for our residents. This role requires excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for enhancing the quality of life for our residents.

Duties

Design and implement a diverse range of activities tailored to the interests and abilities of residents, ensuring inclusivity for all. Coordinate special events and recreational programmes that foster community spirit and engagement. Collaborate with care staff to assess residents' needs and preferences, adapting activities accordingly. Maintain accurate records of participation in activities and gather feedback to continually improve the programme. Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to promote upcoming events and encourage participation. Ensure all activities are conducted in a safe environment, adhering to health and safety regulations. Provide support for residents with varying levels of mobility and cognitive function, particularly those requiring dementia care.

Experience

Previous experience with dementia or working within a care home environment is highly desirable. A background in recreational therapy or a related field is an advantage but not essential. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail. A genuine passion for caring for the elderly and enhancing their quality of life through meaningful activities.
