We are seeking a bubbly, compassionate and dynamic Activities Coordinator to join our team at our nursing home. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing engaging activities that enhance the quality of life for our residents. This role requires strong communication skills and a genuine passion for enriching and stimulating peoples lives. The Activities Coordinator will play a vital role in fostering a supportive community for individuals, including those with dementia care needs.
Responsibilities
Design and implement a diverse range of activities tailored to the interests and abilities of residents into weekly schedules.
Coordinate special events, outings, and group activities that promote social interaction and engagement.
Assess residents' needs and preferences to ensure activities are meaningful and beneficial.
Collaborate with care staff to integrate therapeutic activities into residents' daily routines, including residents at their end of life.
Maintain accurate records of participation and feedback to evaluate the effectiveness of programmes.
Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to promote upcoming activities and gather input.
Hold resident meetings monthly to get their feedback and implement this into the activities schedule.
Post on social media platform our activities with the consent of residents and staff.
Ensure all activities comply with health and safety regulations within the care home environment.
Bring in new ideas and suggestions.
Any other reasonable related activity requests from the residents / management.
Requirements
Outgoing and Bubbly character!
Understanding of care principles, particularly in relation to dementia care and palliative care.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to connect with residents on a personal level.
A compassionate approach to care, demonstrating empathy and respect for all individuals.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team while also being self-motivated.
Flexibility in working hours to accommodate various activity schedules is essential.
Hours of work (20 per week)
Monday (10am - 3pm)
Wednesday (10am - 3pm)
Thursday (10am - 3pm)
Friday (10am - 3pm)
Your will require a rolling DBS, if you do not have a up to date rolling DBS we would have to do one for you at a cost of 60.
