We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Activities Coordinator to lead engaging and meaningful programs for our senior residents. Duties
Develop and implement diverse activity programs tailored to residents' interests, abilities, and care needs, including memory care and dementia-specific activities.
Coordinate special events, outings, and recreational therapies that enhance socialization and cognitive function.
Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as mobility, grooming, and personal care, ensuring dignity and comfort.
Manage scheduling of activities to ensure consistent participation and engagement across all resident groups.
Collaborate with care teams to incorporate therapeutic activities that support aging issues counselling and mental health.
Foster an inclusive environment by working with residents with disabilities or special needs to ensure accessibility and participation.
Maintain detailed records of activity participation, resident preferences, and progress to inform care planning.
Communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, and external vendors to coordinate events and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Proven experience in event planning within assisted living or nursing home settings.
Strong background in senior care, memory care, Alzheimer's care, or dementia-specific programming.
Knowledge of recreational therapy techniques tailored to older adults with diverse needs.
Experience working with people with disabilities or in long-term care environments is highly desirable.
Excellent communication skills to engage residents effectively and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
Ability to assist residents with ADLs while maintaining a caring and respectful approach.
Skilled in schedule management to balance multiple programs simultaneously.
