Working pattern: Monday to Sunday (Days/Nights)

Working hours per week: Full time 33 hours per week

Pay: 12.21ph

Littleover Nursing Home offers exceptional long-term and respite care services, accommodating up to 40 elderly residents in a comfortable and welcoming environment. Most of our single rooms come with the added convenience of an en-suite bathroom. Originally a Victorian home, our facility has undergone tasteful extensions and conversions, blending modern comfort with timeless charm.

Duties and responsibilities

The activity coordinator job role is an important one because it plays an essential role in enhancing the quality of life for residents through meaningful engagement and social interaction. An activities coordinator designs and implements a variety of activities that are tailored to the interests and needs of individuals. This helps to combat loneliness, promotes mental and emotional wellbeing, and provides a sense of belonging.

Whether it's an arts and crafts afternoon or some gentle exercise classes, taking part in group pastimes fosters a sense of community among residents and encourages relationships with other residents and staff members. Activities coordinators will also adapt activities for residents with varying levels of physical and cognitive abilities, ensuring everyone can participate and benefit from the programmes offered. They are able to assess the patients in their care and scale activities according to peoples' needs, including those accessing nursing care or dementia care.

Activity coordinators contribute to a more vibrant, stimulating environment that enhances the overall living experience and satisfaction of residents in care homes.

Planning Activities Promoting social interactions Supporting residents' wellbeing Managing external Visitors and entertainment Working with other health and social care professionals to provide holistic care Recording and reporting essential information in the residents' daily reports accurately and immediately (communication systems, care and health monitoring, accident and incident reports) Gently encouraging residents to get involved with recreational activities and hobbies Giving feedback to health and social care professionals
Expected Skills

sensitivity and understanding a desire to help people the ability to work well with others patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations the ability to work well under pressure to be thorough and pay attention to detail excellent verbal communication skills to be able to carry out basic tasks on a computer or hand-held device Creativity Good Organisational Skills
Experience and Qualifications

NVQ Level 3 in health and social care desirable

A minimum of 12 months experience in a similar role and setting

Good communication skills

Proficiency with Microsoft 360 and confident with using digital devices

Pension Contribution

28 days annual leave including bank holidays

Pay: 12.21 per hour
