We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Activities Coordinator to join our team In our Care Home. This position is to cover maternity leave start ASAP until approx July 2026
The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, organising, and implementing engaging activities that enhance the quality of life for our residents.
This role requires an individual with a strong bubbly personality and someone who can engage residents , good communication skills, innovative, has experience with planning engaging and stimulating activities. Must be willing to help with care tasks if needed such as feeding and personal care.
Must be able to provide suitable references. DBS check is required.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement a diverse range of activities tailored to the interests and abilities of residents.
Coordinate events and outings that promote social interaction and community engagement.
Assess residents' needs and preferences to create personalised activity plans.
Collaborate with care staff to ensure activities are safe and suitable for all participants.
Maintain accurate records of resident participation and feedback on activities.
Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to promote upcoming events.
Train and supervise volunteers or junior staff involved in activity programmes.
Ensure all activities comply with health and safety regulations.
Skills
Experience in care settings such as care homes or assisted living facilities is a must.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with residents and their families.
Knowledge of dementia care practices is an advantage.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Creative thinking to develop innovative programmes that cater to the diverse needs of residents.
Empathy and patience when working with seniors, fostering a supportive environment.
