Role Summary
Bush House is seeking a motivated and creative Activities & Engagement Coordinator to lead and deliver a varied programme of entertainment and meaningful activities for all residents. The role focuses on ensuring every resident, regardless of physical, cognitive, or emotional needs, has access to inclusive and enjoyable opportunities that promote well-being, dignity, and social connection.
This position plays a key role in enhancing daily life within the home by planning, organising, and facilitating activities that reflect residents' interests, abilities, and life histories.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain a monthly activities calendar that offers a balanced mix of social, recreational, therapeutic, and one-to-one activities
Ensure all residents are encouraged and supported to participate, adapting activities to meet individual abilities and needs
Organise and coordinate internal and external entertainment, including performers, themed events, celebrations, and group activities
Arrange bookings, schedules, and resources required for activities, ensuring smooth and well-organised delivery
Work closely with care staff to align activities with residents' care plans and personal preferences
Support residents with additional needs, including those living with dementia, to engage safely and meaningfully
Promote a warm, stimulating, and inclusive atmosphere throughout the home
Maintain clear records of activities delivered, attendance, and resident feedback
Continuously review and improve the activities programme to maximise engagement and enjoyment
Skills and Experience
Experience working within a care home, residential, or community setting is desirable
Understanding of engaging older adults with varying levels of physical and cognitive ability
Confidence in organising and leading group and individual activities
Strong planning and organisational skills, including calendar management and coordination
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
A creative, enthusiastic, and compassionate approach
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a wider care team
Genuine commitment to improving quality of life for residents
