Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Activities Co-ordinator to join our team in providing enriching experiences for residents in our care home. The ideal candidate will have a background in senior care, particularly within assisted living or nursing home environments, and will possess strong communication skills. This role is essential in enhancing the quality of life for our residents, especially those with dementia, by planning and implementing engaging activities that cater to their interests and abilities.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement a comprehensive activities programme that meets the diverse needs of residents. Organise and lead group activities, ensuring participation from all residents. Assess individual resident preferences and abilities to tailor activities accordingly. Collaborate with care staff to integrate activities into daily routines, promoting social interaction and engagement. Maintain accurate records of participation and feedback to evaluate the effectiveness of programmes. Communicate regularly with families regarding activities and encourage their involvement. Ensure all activities are conducted in a safe environment, adhering to health and safety regulations. Stay informed about best practices in dementia care and incorporate relevant strategies into activity planning.

Requirements

Previous experience in senior care, assisted living, or nursing home settings is highly desirable. Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with residents, families, and staff. Knowledge of dementia care principles and best practices is an advantage. A genuine passion for enhancing the lives of seniors through meaningful activities. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Flexibility to adapt plans based on resident needs and preferences. Relevant qualifications in health or social care would be beneficial but are not mandatory.
