We are seeking a compassionate and dynamic Activities Coordinator to join our team in enhancing the quality of life for service users in our Day Centre facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, organising, and implementing engaging activities that cater to the interests and abilities of our service users, including those with dementia and Alzheimer's care needs. This role is pivotal in fostering a vibrant community atmosphere while ensuring that all activities promote physical, emotional, and social well-being.
Duties
Develop and implement a comprehensive activities programme tailored to the diverse needs of service users.
Coordinate daily activities, including arts and crafts, games, exercise classes, and social events.
Collaborate with manager to ensure activities are aligned with service users' health and care plans.
Engage service users in meaningful interactions to promote socialisation and reduce feelings of isolation.
Maintain accurate records of participation and feedback to continually improve the activities offered.
Skills
Previous experience working in a dementia setting is highly desirable.
Strong background in care, particularly with dementia and Alzheimer's care.
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and staff.
Ability to create engaging programmes that cater to various interests and abilities.
Compassionate caregiving skills that foster trust and rapport with service users.
Strong organisational skills to manage multiple activities simultaneously while ensuring safety and enjoyment.
