Overview



We are seeking a fun dedicated and compassionate Activities Co-Ordinator to join our team in enhancing the quality of life for residents in our dementia residential home. The ideal candidate will have a passion for developing innovative activities for residents and experience in planning and implementing engaging activities tailored to the needs of residents. This role is pivotal in fostering a vibrant community atmosphere and ensuring that all residents feel valued and included.

Responsibilities



Develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive activities programme that caters to the diverse interests and abilities of residents.

Coordinate with management to ensure activities are suitable for residents with varying levels of care needs, including those requiring dementia care.

Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to promote participation in activities and gather feedback for improvement.

Organise special events, outings, and celebrations that enhance social interaction among residents.

Maintain accurate records of resident participation and evaluate the effectiveness of programmes regularly.

Train and supervise volunteers or junior staff involved in activity planning and execution.

Ensure all activities comply with health and safety regulations within the care environment.

Qualifications



Previous experience in an Activities Co-Ordinator role or similar position within a residential home, assisted living facility, or senior care environment is preferred.

Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with Management and seniors.

Knowledge of dementia care practices is highly desirable.A creative mindset with the ability to develop innovative programmes that cater to various interests.

Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.A compassionate approach towards senior care, demonstrating empathy and understanding of residents' needs.

Relevant qualifications in health or social care would be an advantage.
