Job Summary


We are seeking a compassionate and organized Activities Coordinator to enhance the quality of life for residents in our senior living community. The ideal candidate will plan, coordinate, and facilitate engaging recreational activities tailored to residents' interests and needs, including those with Alzheimer's, dementia, and other memory care requirements. This role plays a vital part in promoting social interaction, mental stimulation, and overall well-being through creative programming and personalized support. A driving license will be required to drive mini bus.

Responsibilities



Develop and implement a diverse calendar of recreational activities that promote socialization, cognitive stimulation, and physical engagement for residents. Coordinate special events, outings, and therapeutic activities aligned with residents' interests and capabilities. Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) as needed to ensure participation and comfort. Collaborate with nursing staff, caregivers, and family members to tailor activities for residents with specific needs such as Alzheimer's or other memory impairments. Manage scheduling to ensure timely delivery of activities while accommodating individual preferences and health considerations. Provide companionship and emotional support during activities to foster a positive environment. Maintain detailed records of resident participation, preferences, and progress related to recreational programs. Stay informed about aging issues, dementia care best practices, and community resources to enhance program effectiveness.

Qualifications



Experience in event planning, recreational therapy, or senior care is highly preferred. Prior work in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or long-term care settings is advantageous. Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care, and caregiving techniques is essential. Strong communication skills to effectively engage with residents, families, and staff. Ability to assist residents with ADLs and adapt activities for individuals with disabilities or cognitive impairments. Excellent organizational skills for schedule management and program coordination. Compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in improving the lives of seniors through engaging activities. Background in social work or home & community care experience is a plus. Pay: 12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 42.50 per week
