The Point is a day centre for severely disabled adults and serves a wide area of Sussex and Hampshire from its base in Little Breach, Chichester.

The Point is a registered charity, offering a safe and social place for young adults with physical disabilities.

As people have understood the possibility of independence, we have moved away from the traditional activities of day care and turned to leisure and the opportunities it presents for social interaction with other members at The Point and out in the general community.

Members are supported to move towards greater independence to find their place in the world.

We Aim To:

Improve confidence and the ability to self-support Empower and improve independence Help with functional disabilities Provide a flexible service tailored to each member's needs and opportunities to develop social skills Give carers and families support and some respite Provide wonderful outings, noisy lunches, education
The centre operates Monday - Friday, 9am-3.30pm.

The successful candidate will also be rostered approximately 12.5hrs p/m for contributing to our morning and afternoon transport service.

Job description

We are looking for someone with an outgoing personality and great motivational skills to join our busy activities team who support physically disabled adults to participate in leisure activities.

For insurance purposes, you will need to have held a full UK driving licence for a minimum of 3 years and be 21 years of age or older.

You must be willing to drive a mini bus with confidence.

You will be required to support service users with all personal care needs.

Must have a calm & caring nature.

Previous experience in the care sector would be preferred but not essential.

DBS check required.

Pay: From 12.71 per hour

Expected hours: 32.5 per week
