Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Activity Leader to join our team in providing engaging and meaningful activities for residents in our nursing homes.

The ideal candidate will have experience in senior care, particularly with dementia and Alzheimer's care, and possess excellent communication skills to foster relationships with residents and their families.

This role is essential in enhancing the quality of life for our residents through creative programming and social interaction.

Duties

Plan, organise, and implement a variety of activities tailored to the interests and abilities of residents. Facilitate group activities that promote socialisation, physical fitness, and cognitive engagement. Collaborate with care staff to ensure activities align with individual care plans and enhance resident well-being. Maintain a safe and supportive environment for all participants during activities. Document participation and feedback from residents to assess the effectiveness of programmes. Communicate regularly with family members regarding resident involvement in activities. Provide support to residents with varying levels of ability, including those requiring assistance due to dementia or other cognitive impairments.

Requirements

Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or senior care settings is preferred. Knowledge of dementia care practices and familiarity with Alzheimer's care techniques is highly desirable. Strong communication skills to effectively engage with residents, families, and staff. A compassionate approach towards caregiving and a genuine interest in enhancing the lives of seniors. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment. Flexibility to adapt activities based on resident needs and preferences.
