We're looking for an enthusiastic and experienced
activity assistant
to support our
Christmas Holiday Camp
at
Bingham Leisure centre
on the following dates:
December 22nd, 23rd, 29th, 30th, 31st, and January 2nd.
Your Role
We are recruiting for an activity assistant to support the manager with the camp for the week, duties include the following:
1. Assist and maintain a base room that is suitable and inviting for children
2. Follow policies and procedures to ensure children in your care have fun in a safe environment
3. Ensure that the needs of the children in your care are met with active supervision and attention throughout the day, including breaks and lunchtimes
4. Work with the other assistants to deliver sessions
5. Get to know the children as individuals. Find out their likes and dislikes and incorporate these into their day on camp
6. Deliver up to 10 specific activities assigned to you and have full understanding (using resources supplied/ available) of the sessions prior to starting on camp.
7. Maintain a tidy site/ base rooms and ensure all equipment packed away
REQUIREMENTS: YOU WILL
1. Have experience or qualifications working within a childcare/coaching setting
2. Be eligible to work in the UK
3. Provide satisfactory references
4. Be enthusiastic, caring and organised
5. Be able to adapt to effectively deal with unpredictable challenges within the childcare industry
6. An existing enhanced DBS or on the update service
7. Attend training if you're new to Koala Klubs, which may take place on an evening/ weekend
8. Complete relevant training online, prior to the camp starting if required.
9. Attend an Induction Training Day (this will most likely take place within the 7 day period before your camp opens)
10. Assist with pack up at the end of camp
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Ensure that the company fulfils if its Health and Safety obligations by carefully following instructions and showing a proactive and diligent approach to all safety issues
2. Any activities that you organise or deliver must be appropriate for the children in your care within the scope of your qualifications
3. Ensure the children under your supervision behave in a safe manner. Always know the children's whereabouts, respect them as individuals and communicate with them daily about codes of behaviour
4. Carefully follow all camp systems, including registration and collection procedures, health and safety systems and all guidelines on good practice in child welfare whilst supporting your colleagues to do the same
5. Be a positive role model to the children in your care, promote a healthy lifestyle, good hygiene precautions and generally consider their welfare at all times
6. Report any concerns regarding Child Protection to your Camp manager or Designated Persons at the Central Office.
7. Look after children's welfare and happiness
8. Ensure the safe use of equipment provided for your sessions
Job Types: Temporary, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 days
Pay: 10.00-13.00 per hour
