We are seeking a compassionate and organised Activity Coordinator to enhance the quality of life for residents in our care home specialising in senior care, including dementia and Alzheimer's care. The successful candidate will plan, organise, and facilitate engaging activities tailored to residents' needs, promoting social interaction, mental stimulation, and overall wellbeing. Responsibilities
Develop and implement a diverse programme of activities suitable for residents with varying needs, including those requiring specialised dementia and Alzheimer's care.
Organise group activities, individual sessions, outings, and special events that encourage participation and socialisation.
Assess residents' interests, preferences, and abilities to personalise activity plans effectively.
Collaborate with care staff to ensure activities align with individual care plans and safety protocols.
Maintain accurate records of resident participation and feedback to evaluate programme effectiveness.
Foster a warm, inclusive environment that promotes independence and dignity among residents.
Stay informed about best practices in senior care, dementia support, and activity planning to continually improve service delivery.
Requirements
Prior experience working within assisted living or nursing home environments is highly desirable.
Knowledge of senior care principles, including dementia and Alzheimer's disease management.
Strong communication skills to engage effectively with residents, families, and team members.
Demonstrated organisational skills with the ability to plan and coordinate multiple activities simultaneously.
Compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in enhancing the lives of older adults.
Relevant experience in caregiving or activity coordination within a care home setting is advantageous.
