We have an exciting opportunity for an Activity Coordinator to join our inpatient Adult Acute Mental Health Team based at Milford House, St George's Hospital, Stafford.



Milford House is an 18 bedded mixed sex adult acute admissions ward providing treatment and care for a wide range of mental health illnesses to patients who are of working age.



We provide inpatient facilities for working age adults with acute mental health problems and we are looking for caring, compassionate individual to work within our acute service who are committed to providing high quality care and treatment to our patients.



You will engage with adult mental health service users to promote recovery and reintegration with the aim of assisting service users to gain and maintain independence in the community or other step-down settings.



Working in an acute environment can be challenging, but with the right team, positive attitude and resilience we are rising to the challenge and reaping the reward of being able to support people during their most difficult times.



As the Activity Coordinator you will provide formalised support and practical assistance to service users in order for them to regain control over their lives and their own unique recovery process, whilst supporting service users with dementia to maintain their current functioning skills requiring them to adjust their approach depending upon the need and intervention.



As part of this role, you will be expected to:



Help individuals identify their own achievable and meaningful recovery goals and actively, practically and creatively support their progress towards these.

Facilitate access to community groups and networks that enable participation in the community to maximise the service user's opportunities for socially valued roles and positive identity.

Work direct work with service users on a 1:1 and in group settings, e.g. objective setting for meaningful activity developing individual learning plans to enable successful social reintegration.

To deliver group work which is part of a treatment plan as formulated by an Occupational Therapist and Multi-Disciplinary Team
