Job Description

As an Actuary with us you will be joining a team of 7 reporting into the Head of Actuarial. You will be supervising the work of actuarial analysts within the team, overseeing the production and delivery of a range of reporting metrics on a quarterly basis. This includes providing oversight of the end-to-end valuation process and challenge assumptions, set-up of Prophet runs and analysis of financial results.


Outside of the quarterly reporting processes, you will be required to provide support to a range of other BAU projects, such as experience investigations, data analytics and modelling, providing the candidate with a breadth and depth of actuarial experience.



Your role will involve:

Provide oversight of the production of quarterly financial results on IFRS17 and Solvency II bases, including review and challenge of the results. This will include regulatory capital requirements under both the UK regime (Solvency UK) and the Canadian regime (LICAT) Assist in the delivery of financial results to stakeholders in a timely manner, ensuring the rigorous implementation of checks and controls Write reports and communicate results to relevant internal and external stakeholders as appropriate Provide support and review in other areas of the business as required, e.g. experience investigations, ORSA, Business Planning and development of MI Contribute to the development of actuarial analysts within the team

What we require



Qualified actuary with post-qualification experience. Strong financial reporting experience, including a good understanding of IFRS17 and or Solvency UK. Financial Services background. Excellent Excel skills Experience of drawing conclusions quickly and applying expert judgement where necessary Experience of managing, coaching and guiding more junior team members Experience of communicating results and issues effectively and succinctly to a variety of stakeholders, such as senior management and external auditors Working knowledge of actuarial modelling tools such as Prophet Python and SQL experience beneficial but training will be given.

Working hours are 35 hours a week Monday to Friday. After an initial training period they will be the opportunity to work 2/3 days from home. Depending on the reporting period.
