Job Description

Purpose of the Role



To provide therapeutic care and support to clients recovering from addiction following The Living Room's model of therapy.

Main Responsibilities



Client-Based:



Provide counselling and therapy in a group setting for clients in recovery . Support and follow the direction of the lead group counsellor, including client observation and feedback, with the expectation to eventually lead groups independently. To signpost clients to additional support resources to help them in their recovery journey. Complete client administration and support team members during cover hours. Engage in training, discussions, and data collection to ensure policy compliance. Securely store client-related and sensitive paperwork.

Administration:



Complete and update client journey documentation as instructed. Ensure understanding and compliance with all policies and procedures. Safely store sensitive data, following GDPR and confidentiality guidelines. Meet organisational and contract compliance requirements.

Quality Assurance:



Maintain quality standards in line with organisational policies. Adhere to a professional body's code of ethics (e.g., BACP or Addiction Professionals) and maintain accreditation/registration. Ensure value for money in services delivered. Facilitate or participate in service user sessions or workshops as directed. Actively practice equality and diversity in all duties. Uphold the values and policies of The Living Room. Attend meetings, training, and Annual Performance Development Reviews as required.

Training & Professional Development:



Ensure consistent, ethical practice following BACP and Addiction Professionals recommendations. Undertake Continuous Professional Development training to maintain compliance and capability.

Requirements:



Qualified to a minimum of Level 3 in Counselling and currently working toward a Level 4 Diploma. Preferably a minimum of five years of continuous abstinence. All work must be conducted in person.
Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 17.18 per hour

Expected hours: 21 per week
