Job Overview


We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Practitioner with knowledge and experience of supporting adults affected by drug and/or alcohol use, or other behavioural dependencies to join our multidisciplinary team.

Working within Solihull Integrated Addictions Service (SIAS), you will use evidence-based interventions and a compassionate, trauma-informed approach to help people improve their health and wellbeing, achieve recovery goals, and reduce harm. You will also work closely with families, carers, and professionals across a range of services to ensure people receive the right support at the right time.

Practitioners are expected to cover one late evening a week on a rotational basis and be flexible with work patterns to meet the requirements of the service. They are also

Practitioners are expected to travel as part of their role and should be willing to work from various locations as required by the service. A Full UK Driving Licence and access to own car is desirable.

PLEASE NOTE THIS ROLE IS PART TIME AND OFFERED ON A ONE YEAR FIXED TERM CONTRACT.

Core Duties



Conduct comprehensive assessments of adult clients to determine their addiction needs and develop tailored treatment plans. Deliver individualised counselling sessions utilising recognised therapeutic models such as CBT or motivational interviewing. Facilitate group therapy sessions aimed at fostering peer support and shared learning among clients. Monitor client progress regularly, adjusting treatment approaches as necessary to optimise outcomes. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including medical professionals and social workers, to ensure holistic care. Maintain accurate and confidential clinical records in accordance with organisational policies and legal requirements. Educate clients on relapse prevention strategies and coping mechanisms to support long-term recovery. Participate in ongoing professional development activities to stay current with best practices in addiction treatment.

Experience



Proven experience working with adults facing substance misuse or behavioural addictions within a clinical setting. Knowledge of evidence-based addiction therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, or similar modalities. Experience in conducting assessments, developing care plans, and delivering both individual and group interventions. Familiarity with safeguarding procedures, confidentiality protocols, and relevant legal frameworks governing addiction services. A recognised qualification in counselling, psychotherapy, social work, or a related discipline is desirable. Pay: 15,486.00 per year
