We are seeking a self-employed Psychiatrist to join The Sherborne Practice, where you will be part of a knowledgeable and supportive team, with quality mental health care and client led support at the heart of what we do.

As a self-employed Psychiatrist at The Sherborne Practice, you would offer ADHD assessments for clients provided by the practice, and would prescribe medication where required, dependant on client needs.

The role would be to run an ADHD assessment clinic one day a month (Saturday) in person at The Sherborne Practice, or online where needed. You would also complete any relevant reports and paperwork associated with the assessments, and prescribe any medication that may be needed as the result of a diagnosis.

Further/alternate days can be negotiated for the right applicant.

Key Responsibilities:



To conduct formal assessments for ADHD preferably in children, young people and adults, employing various techniques tailored to each client's unique circumstances. To write up assessment reports and any other paperwork related to conducting formal ADHD assessments ensuring accuracy and compliance to ethical standards and GDPR. To prescribe medication for clients if required as a result of the ADHD assessment To discuss with the client potential pathways for further support for their condition including the other services offered by The Sherborne Practice. Where needed, collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care for clients. To offer follow up medication review appointment for clinic diagnosed through The Sherborne Practice. To liaise and schedule in client appointments for the monthly clinic day To maintain relevant membership to supervisory medical body and relevant continual professional development (CPD) Attend regular supervision. Confidentially manage client information and document sessions, adhering to GDPR processes at all times. Foster a supportive environment that encourages open communication and trust between clients and practitioners. To adhere to the general code of ethics of The Sherborne Practice to maintain excellent client care.

Person Specification:



Qualifications



Essential:



GMC registered Doctor Professional qualifications relevant to MHWBS eg. MBChB/ MBChC/ MB BS

Desirable:



Relevant Higher Degree e.g MD,PHD,Msc or other additional clinical qualifications MRCPsych OR MRCPsych equivalent approved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists.

Experience:



Essential:



At least 2 years of experience formally assessing ADHD. Prescribing medication relevant to the diagnosis and conducting medication reviews. Working in a holistic manner with other service providers to provide a person-centred approach to assessment and care. Experience working with and diagnosing children and young people. Experience of safeguarding and managing risk safely. Knowledge of local services and clear signposting pathways.

Desirable:



Previous experience in a clinical setting is preferred.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with clients and colleagues. A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying informed about best practices. Professional Indemnity Insurance to a minimum of 1,000,000 per annum. Registered with ICO Current full enhanced DBS Access to laptop and mobile phone IT literate.

Please note:



The Sherborne Practice will take a fee per session, for each client provided by the practice; this is open to negotiation for the right applicant.

As an self employed Psychiatrist you are responsible for making your own tax and national insurance payments.
