Teaching Assistant for Autistic Students Position: Teaching Assistant Location: primary school secondary Contract Type: full time Hours: 8.30 am -16.00pm About Us: Axcis is working to recruit a teaching assistant to join a Primary School in Dagenham. The role will be working with KS1 students, supporting with small groups as well as one to one with students. They are currently seeking a compassionate and skilled teaching assistant to support students with autism. In this role, you will assist the classroom teacher in delivering tailored educational programs that focus on both academic and social development. Your support will be essential in helping the student develop communication skills and navigate social interactions. Key Responsibilities: xe2x80xa2 Assist the classroom teacher in delivering personalised educational programs. xe2x80xa2 Working 1:1 with students xe2x80xa2 Support the student in developing communication and social skills, using appropriate strategies and tools. xe2x80xa2 Create a safe and positive learning environment that encourages participation and engagement. xe2x80xa2 Develop and use visual aids, social stories, sensory resources, and other tools tailored to support students with ASD. Qualifications: xe2x80xa2 Experience working with students on the autism spectrum xe2x80xa2 Working in a primary school or early years setting xe2x80xa2 Knowledge of autism spectrum disorders and associated learning needs. xe2x80xa2 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. xe2x80xa2 Patience, empathy, and adaptability in diverse situations.
