The role:
We are looking for an experienced Administrative Assistant to join our Inpatient Bookings at Rivers Hospital, based in Sawbridgeworth. As an Admin and Bookings Clerk you will work as part of the Inpatient Bookings, to support with bookings and enquiries. This is a busy role liaising with patients, consultants and all hospital departments. We need an individual with a professional approach, excellent verbal communication skills, initiative and the ability to work within a team. You must be computer literate - experience with Word and Outlook being essential. Previous use of an Electronic Patient Record system would be an advantage.
Responsibilities:
Liaising with patients by phone & letter
Booking appointments
Liaising with consultants and their secretaries
Managing a Central inbox and actioning queries accordingly
Pre-authorisation for insured patients - contacting patient's insurance companies for pre-authorisation
Ensure worklists are managed in a timely manner
Ensuring timely completion of appointments onto EPR system
Scanning & auditing of patient information
Admin ad hoc
What you will bring with you:
Excellent organisational skills
An excellent standard of computer literacy to include experience in Outlook
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Excellent communication skills - written and oral
Ability to work under pressure with set deadlines to process booking appointments
The ability to work within a team
The ability to time-manage
Experience using a Patient Administration System (PAS) would be an advantage
