About the Role
Independent Choices Greater Manchester is looking for a highly organised and motivated Admin Worker (Refuge) to join our team.
This vital role ensures that survivors of domestic abuse are able to access safe accommodation quickly. You will manage and process refuge space requests from professionals, match referrals with vacancies, and liaise with refuge providers to confirm placements.
Your work will help survivors move to safety -- making a real difference every day.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and process refuge space requests via email
Match requests with available refuge vacancies
Liaise with partner organisations to confirm availability and suitability
Maintain accurate and confidential records of all referral activity
Communicate decisions to referring professionals in a timely manner
Escalate urgent or complex cases to helpline staff where needed
Work in line with safeguarding and data protection policies
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
Highly organised with strong attention to detail
Able to manage a high volume of emails efficiently
Confident in written communication, professional and clear
Skilled in using email systems, spreadsheets, and databases
Able to work independently, managing their own workload in short working hours
Committed to confidentiality, safeguarding, and equality principles
Desirable:
Experience in domestic abuse services, housing, or similar support settings
Understanding of the needs of survivors from diverse backgrounds
