The Role





Forbes Solicitors LLP are seeking a Fixed Term Administrative Assistant to join our Central Services team at our Blackburn, Northgate office for a fixed term period ending in December 2026. This role is full time, working 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday.



The purpose of this role is to support the effective operation of the Firm's central services and compliance functions by delivering high-quality administrative and secretarial support. This role ensures compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements, contributing to the smooth running of the Firm and the delivery of a consistent, risk-aware client service.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for achieving successful outcomes such as:

Provide administrative and operational support across the firm, including banking, payments, document handling, and file management. Assist with client onboarding by preparing engagement letters, conducting due diligence, and completing AML checks. Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders regarding compliance, source of funds, and client documentation. Maintain accurate compliance and case management records throughout the client lifecycle. Support the Central Services and Compliance teams with day-to-day administrative tasks and risk management initiatives. Monitor onboarding progress, escalate high-risk cases, and ensure timely file opening and closing in line with firm protocols. Promote best practices in compliance and contribute to process improvements.

The Person





We will be progressing applicants to the next stage based on their demonstrated knowledge, experience, and skills in:

Essential:



Have 5 GCSEs grade C/4 or above or equivalent, including Maths and English; Previous experience working within fast paced administration/secretarial roles; Demonstrates excellent communication skills with experience of speaking to clients/customers over the phone and other written methods of communication; Demonstrates excellent IT skills and the ability to use multiple platforms such as word, excel, outlook and other case management systems/databases; Demonstrates the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks, ensuring deadlines are met; Demonstrates high attention to detail and accuracy in their work and recording of information; Demonstrates the ability to work independently as well as part of a team; Aligns with the Firms values;

Desirable



Previous experience in a law firm or professional services environment. Understanding of AML, GDPR, and SRA compliance requirements. Experience with client onboarding and compliance support.
