Hospice at Home's skilled team of Registered Nurses and Healthcare Assistants provide our exceptional core services of palliative and end of life care and support people in their last year of life also providing additional services such as Lymphoedema, Bereavement and Family Support, Befriending, Occupational Therapy and Complementary Therapy.
We provide individualised care and support to improve quality of life and our end of life care helps facilitate a peaceful and dignified death in the home and support to those who are bereaved.
Although we receive some funding from the NHS, we need to raise over 85% of our running costs in order to ensure that this vital help is available when needed and remains free of charge to patients and their families.
Our clinical service area covers a mixture of urban and rural communities, a region of approximately 1,500 square miles throughout North and East Cumbria.

Finance Administrative Assistant - 10 Month Fixed Term Maternity Cover
Location:
Valley Court, Dalston - with flexible hours to work over 3,4 or 5 days
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented individual to support our Finance Team for a 10-month maternity cover role.
Our team plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality end-of-life care for adults in their own homes while providing vital support to their families and carers.
As a Finance Administrative Assistant, you will be responsible for maintaining financial records, supporting income processing, and assisting with general finance administration to ensure the smooth running of operations. This role is ideal for someone looking to develop their financial and administrative skills while making a real difference in the community.
Essential Criteria:
Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent) including English, Maths, and IT (minimum grade C / 4 or above).
Proven experience as an administrative assistant with cash handling and processing experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, plus internet-based communication and research tools.
Strong organisational skills, ability to manage workload independently, and excellent interpersonal skills.
Flexible approach to covering various office duties as needed.
Desirable Criteria:
NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration.
Experience in charity fundraising or working with volunteers.
Knowledge of Donorflex or other finance databases.
A proactive and positive attitude with enthusiasm for contributing to a meaningful cause.
Car driver with access to transport.
