The Role:
This is an exciting entry level opportunity for a proactive and detail oriented individual to play a key role in our operations. Working with the whole office staff and directors, you will be instrumental in supporting the planning and organisation of fabrication jobs and ensuring timely and accurate material procurement.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Planning Support:
Assist with the scheduling and organisation of fabrication jobs.
Material Procurement:
Accurately interpret technical drawings from our inhouse design team to identify required materials and quantities.
Supplier Liaison:
Obtain quotes, place orders, and track deliveries of materials, ensuring competitive pricing and timely arrival.
Inventory Management:
Help to maintain accurate records of material stock levels and upcoming material requirements.
Data Management:
Utilise Google Sheets extensively for tracking job progress, material orders, supplier information, and other operational data.
Administrative Support:
Provide general administrative assistance to the office, including filing, data entry, and answering phone calls.
Logistics Support:
Potentially assist with local collections or deliveries of materials or finished goods, depending on business needs.
Requirements:
Organisational Skills:
Exceptional organisational abilities with a proven track record of managing multiple tasks and prioritising effectively.
Excel/Google Sheets Proficiency:
Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets is critical, including the ability to create and manage complex spreadsheets, use formulas, and analyse data.
Attention to Detail:
A meticulous approach to data entry, record keeping, and interpreting technical information.
Communication Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to liaise effectively with suppliers, colleagues, and customers.
Proactive Attitude:
A self starter with a willingness to learn and take initiative in a fast paced environment.
Problem Solving:
Ability to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
Team Player:
A collaborative approach and ability to work effectively within a small team.
Desirable (but not essential):
Previous experience in an office environment, particularly within a manufacturing or engineering setting.
Familiarity with technical drawings or an aptitude for understanding them.
A full, clean UK driving licence is desirable. Especially due to the remote nature of our business.
