Dumbarton Sheriff Court are looking for a full time administrator to join them on a permanent basis.

Administrative Officers carry out a variety of general administrative duties to progress cases through the court or provide support to other functions within the Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service

The Key Responsibilities



To undertake a number of general administrative duties including:

Creating and updating records on our in-house computer system and data input Producing and processing curt documents for issuing Preparing files for court hearings Attending at 9.30 am hearings when required Deals with customer queries via telephone, email and public counter Accounting for monies in accordance with financial guidance taking payments Assists colleagues as and when requested Complies with GDPR requirements in regards to confidentiality


Additionally you:

Will have regular contact with court users, including members of the Judiciary and the legal profession. As such you will be required to competently answer queries giving consistent and reliable advice.

Work within a team with regular management support and will be responsible for your own time. May be required to provide advice to colleagues and carry out limited supervision of others. Assist with preparing statistical information and other returns to ensure standards of work meet the agreed levels. Assist in clearing up of the courts by preparing court interlocutors and/or court minutes, issuing letters, ordering reports and filing/uploading documents as necessary.


Process and enter fine payments onto computer system.
