Job summary




This is a brigaded campaign, representing two or more divisions across the Health and Safety Executive. A summary of these divisions is below:

Building Safety Regulator (BSR) x4:

The Health and Safety Executive has established the new Building Safety Division (BSD) to ensure high-risk residential buildings (HRBs) are safe and enable people to feel safe in their homes. BSD will oversee changes to the safety and performance of all buildings and raise industry professional standards year on year, working with residents and industry to make sure everybody has a voice in achieving this goal.


Working within our Operational Support team, you will be the first point of contact for a range of stakeholders where you will be able to demonstrate your professionalism and provide a consistent customer service. You will be analytical, responsible for providing responses to email queries, including financial and operational support, requiring a good standard of written communication. You will use your organisational skills to keep you focused as you support the team with an array of projects, including administrative tasks relating to various functions of the division's operation. You will join a supportive environment that encourages personal development and career progression, helping you gain an overarching understanding of the various BSD functions as set out in the Building Safety Act 2022.

Director of Regulation (DoR) x1:

Working within the Divisional Support Unit, Operational Support teams are responsible for supporting frontline colleagues, aligned to the Inspection, Investigation and Specialist Divisions, overseeing operational delivery across a range of industries including Manufacturing, Construction and Agriculture. You will contribute to the yearly delivery plan, while triaging potential visits, for which you will create inspection packages for use by regulating teams, processing gas cases, preparing litigation files, and the triage of RIDDORS. You will be proactive in self-development and collaboration within your teams and across the cross-divisional network, with an ability and passion to deliver at pace.

Additionally, offers made from the reserve list will be job matched at the same discipline and salary band, however, may not be restricted to the Divisions listed above.


Part time working hours are available for these roles. We can accept part time applicants who can commit to working a minimum of 30 hours per week.

Job description




You will contribute to the delivery of HSE's Strategy and plan of work by undertaking a range of business support tasks and processes, in direct support of both front line and other HSE staff, including providing support to other parts of HSE, on both a local and national basis. You will do this by:

Providing a sound administrative support to your wider team to meet business objectives, this can vary from responding to email queries in a timely manner, managing inboxes and itineraries or contributing to projects across your division in a meaningful way. Working with division-relevant systems and programmes ranging from Microsoft Word and Excel through to HR systems. Providing a consistently good customer service, ensuring any queries are dealt with in a timely manner. Providing assistance to your colleagues on any projects and work activities. Overseeing compliance in regards to any data entry/management such as updating records. Liaising with internal and external stakeholders, including candidates when required.

Interview Information





Interviews are expected to take from week commencing 16th and 23rd June onwards. This is a blended interview consisting of Strengths and Behaviours.
