Glasgow Sheriff Court are looking for 2 x Administrative Officers to join their Civil Department on a permanent basis.

1 x position is full time and the other is part time working 21 hours per week. The working pattern is Monday to Friday.

Administrative Officers carry out a variety of general administrative duties to progress cases through the court or provide support to other functions within the Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service.

The Key Responsibilities



To undertake a number of general administrative duties including:

Processing and distributing incoming mail to colleagues which comprises of civil, solemn and criminal enquiries along with other documents. Creating and updating records on our in-house computer system and data input Producing court documents on our in-house computer systems and data input. Preparing files for court hearings on our in-house computer systems and data input. Assisting court clerks with post court related procedures. General photocopying and filing Accounting for monies in accordance with financial guidelines Dealing with jury queries. Dealing with telephone, counter and email queries.


Additionally you:

will have regular contact with court users, including members of the Judiciary and the legal profession. As such you be required to competently answer queries giving consistent and reliable advice. work within a team with regular management support and will be responsible for your own time. may be required to provide advice to colleagues and carry out limited supervision of others. assist in clearing up of criminal, civil and solemn courts by preparing court minutes/interlocutors, issuing letters, ordering reports and filing papers as necessary
